Latest: leaving Fiserv

Dhivya Suryadevara resigned as President of Fiserv in early July 2026. Fiserv's filing said she left for good reason under the terms of her offer letter dated August 28, 2025, and she stayed on in a non-executive role through July 31, 2026 to help with the transition. American Banker reported that she had become Co-President in December 2025 and President in June 2026, and that Andrew Gelb and Srini Krish would act as interim co-heads of financial solutions.[1][4]

Her exit came shortly after Fiserv replaced its chief executive. American Banker described a turnaround under way at the payments company, with a new CEO, Takis Georgakopoulos, after Michael Lyons left to lead Truist.[4]

Fiserv appointment

Fiserv announced on October 29, 2025 that she would become Co-President, Head of Financial Solutions, Global Operations and Chief Revenue Officer, effective December 1, 2025. The filing states she was 46 and that no arrangement or understanding led to her selection, and it attaches her offer letter as an exhibit.[1]

Optum and UnitedHealth Group

From February 2024 to September 2025 she was chief executive of Optum Financial Services and Optum Insight at UnitedHealth Group, according to the Fiserv filing. Wikipedia dates her UnitedHealth arrival to February 2024 as CEO of Optum Financial, a unit of the company's health services business.[1][2]

Stripe

She joined Stripe as chief financial officer in August 2020 after resigning from General Motors on August 13 of that year. In February 2023 she announced in a LinkedIn post that she would step down, saying she would take time off for family matters, and she stayed until April. Bloomberg reported that co-founder John Collison would lead finance while a successor was sought.[2][3]

General Motors

Suryadevara joined GM in 2004 and worked there until 2020. She became CFO and chief investment officer of GM Asset Management in 2013 and Vice President of Finance and Treasurer in 2015, when Fortune named her to its 40 Under 40 list. In 2017 she became GM's first woman chief financial officer, a role the Fiserv filing dates from 2018 to 2020.[1][2]

Education and early career

Wikipedia lists her education as a bachelor's in commerce from Ethiraj College for Women at the University of Madras, chartered accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the CFA charter and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her early career included PricewaterhouseCoopers, a World Bank internship in 2002 and investment banking at UBS.[2]

Why she matters

Her record spans a manufacturing giant, a private fintech, a health-services division and a public payments company, and in each she held a senior finance or operating position. She was GM's first woman CFO, and her Fiserv tenure ended within about a year of her appointment being announced.[1][2][4]
