Carlos Delatorre
A veteran enterprise sales leader who was revenue chief at MongoDB and Navan, he now oversees sales and go-to-market at Harness.
Current role at Harness
Carlos Delatorre is President, Go To Market at Harness, where he oversees sales and the wider go-to-market functions. Harness lists him on its leadership page alongside co-founder and CEO Jyoti Bansal and a separate Chief Revenue Officer, Sam Costello.[1]
Harness describes itself as an AI-native software delivery platform, branded as the Autonomous SDLC Platform. It launched in San Francisco in 2017, and its agents span the software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, security and cloud cost management. The company's own figures list more than 1,200 employees, more than 1,000 enterprise customers, $570 million in total funding and 23 offices across five continents.[1]
Harness's growth context
In May 2024 Harness announced $150 million in new financing from Silicon Valley Bank and Hercules Capital, to be used for new modules, generative AI integration and go-to-market investment. The release reported annual recurring revenue growing from $1 million to more than $100 million over five years, and named Nike, NetApp, Morningstar and Icelandair as new enterprise customers. It also welcomed Delatorre as Chief Revenue Officer, so his Harness role has since widened from revenue chief to president of go-to-market.[2][1]
Enterprise sales roots
Delatorre's biography, as given by his former employers, describes about two decades of enterprise sales leadership by 2015 and nearly 25 years by 2020. He held senior sales roles at BMC Software, BladeLogic, IMlogic and Oblix, and was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at DynamicOps, whose team reported 300 percent growth in 2011 and 2012 before VMware acquired the company in 2012.[3][4]
He then became Senior Vice President at ClearSlide, a sales engagement software provider, before joining MongoDB.[3]
MongoDB
MongoDB announced Delatorre as Chief Revenue Officer in a release dated January 8, 2015, describing him as a technology industry veteran hired to drive growth. The hire placed an experienced enterprise sales builder at the head of the database company's revenue organization.[3]
Vera Security and Navan
The TripActions announcement lists him as a former chief executive of Vera Security, a security software company, before he returned to a revenue role.[4]
In January 2020 TripActions, now Navan, announced him as Chief Revenue Officer responsible for global sales. At the time the company said more than 3,000 enterprises used its platform, which managed more than $2 billion in annual travel budget, and its CEO Ariel Cohen cited a goal of five-fold year-over-year growth.[4]
Boards, investing and education
Harness lists Delatorre as a board member of Yalo and as an investor or advisor to Modern Treasury, Vartana, Exafunction, Starburst and Outreach. He holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Miami and Troy State University and an MBA from Troy State University.[1][4]
Why he matters
Delatorre's career tracks the shift of enterprise infrastructure sales from licenses to cloud and developer platforms: workload automation, databases, travel-spend software and now software delivery. Across those companies his remit has been the same, building the global sales engine for a fast-growing platform vendor.[1][3][4]
