Meagen Eisenberg
A veteran enterprise chief marketing officer, she leads marketing at Samsara after running it at MongoDB, TripActions (now Navan) and Lacework.
Marketing chief at Samsara
Meagen Eisenberg is Chief Marketing Officer of Samsara, which describes its product as the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform that helps businesses with physical operations use data from connected devices to improve performance. Samsara announced her appointment on August 21, 2024; she started on August 28, 2024 and reports to co-founder and CEO Sanjit Biswas. Samsara's leadership page continues to list her in the role.[1][2]
She arrived at a company that was already large. In its results for the fiscal year ended January 31, 2026, Samsara reported annual recurring revenue of about 1.89 billion dollars, up 30 percent, full-year revenue of about 1.62 billion dollars and free cash flow of about 207 million dollars. The release says the company serves tens of thousands of customers, and Biswas said the company was now using AI agents to automate whole workflows.[3]
Education and early career
Eisenberg holds a degree in management information systems from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a marketing and strategy MBA from the Yale School of Management. A conference biography from her MongoDB period lists her roles in the years before she became a chief marketing officer, including solutions and product marketing at IBM, security and compliance marketing at Postini, which Google later acquired, and worldwide programs and events at TRIRIGA, which IBM later acquired.[1][4][5]
MongoDB's 2015 announcement adds that she had spent nearly 20 years in high technology and specialized in demand generation, marketing operations and automation, and field marketing strategy. It also describes her as a Yale University and Yale School of Management graduate who advised several Bay Area startups at the time, among them Accompani, Mintigo, Apptimize and Insightpool.[4]
ArcSight and DocuSign
Before MongoDB she was director of worldwide demand generation at ArcSight, the security software company that became part of Hewlett-Packard. She then moved to DocuSign, the electronic signature company, where MongoDB's announcement lists her as vice president of customer acquisition and marketing. In that job, according to the release, she led worldwide marketing programs and investments across web, corporate and enterprise.[4]
The Turing Fest speaker listing, written when she was at MongoDB, describes the DocuSign role slightly differently, as vice president of customer marketing and demand generation. Both accounts agree on the substance: she ran the demand engine that fed a fast-growing software-as-a-service business.[5]
MongoDB
MongoDB named her chief marketing officer on March 4, 2015, with chief executive Dev Ittycheria saying her focus on modernizing marketing would boost demand and drive growth. At the time MongoDB described itself as the world's fastest-growing database and reported more than 9 million open-source downloads, 2,000 customers and 750 partners.[4]
Her Turing Fest 2018 session, titled How the Hell Do You Get More Leads?, reflects the demand-generation focus that carried through her career. Beyond that title, the published listing does not describe the contents of the talk.[5]
TripActions (Navan) and Lacework
Lacework's announcement says she spent roughly four years at MongoDB and was then chief marketing officer of TripActions, the business-travel and expense company now called Navan, from 2019 until August 2022. A biography published by Anomali lists a 2011 Marketing Visionary Markie award, a 2012 SuperNova Award from Constellation Research and a 2014 Marketers that Matter award, among other industry recognitions.[1][6][7]
On November 16, 2022 the cloud security company Lacework named her its chief marketing officer. Its coverage describes her as a specialist in demand generation, marketing operations and field marketing, and quotes chief executive Jay Parikh saying her record of building marketing organizations and connecting with customers and partners would be central to the company's next growth phase. Samsara's later announcement says she held the role from 2022 and notes that Lacework was acquired by Fortinet.[1][7]
Boards, advising and writing
A speaker profile lists her as a board member at G2, WorkStep and Terminus and as a limited partner in Operator Collective, and says she has held advisory roles at many startups. The same profile says she published guidance in January 2025 on generative engine optimization, the practice of making content visible to AI search tools, and that she emphasizes writing as an underrated marketing skill. These details come from a promotional profile.[8]
Why she matters
Eisenberg is one of a small group of chief marketing officers who have led demand generation through several enterprise software inflection points: security, e-signature, open-source databases, corporate travel and cloud security. Her move to Samsara places her at an industrial IoT company that is now operating at a scale of nearly two billion dollars in recurring revenue, where marketing has to speak to fleet managers, construction firms and operations teams as much as to technology buyers.[1][3][4]
On The Executive List
Meagen Eisenberg is ranked No. 30 on The Executive List (October 2026) in the Chief Marketing Officers discipline. She has since moved to Samsara, where she is Chief Marketing Officer; her earlier role at Navan (formerly TripActions) is covered below.
